WHO WE ARE

 

 

Laney Walker Development Corporation has been in the forefront as an established leader in affordable housing and urban renewal since its inception.

 

Starting as a grass roots effort to “bring the community back to life”, the organization was incorporation in 1989 by a group of concerned citizens as a 501(C)(3).  Since that time, it has been impacting lives as well as the community by creating a liveable and sustainable community which in turn, has created a stable walk about neighborhood environment.  A neighborhood in which residents take pride.

 

Since its beginnings, the organization has been a part of the economic development of the area.  Having developed the only two shopping centers in the area, the Laney Walker Development Corporation has continued to work with and support small businesses wishing to locate in the area as well as entrepreneurs wanting to start a business.
